SITUATION
The Challenge
Vitalant needed a campaign story that could move beyond statistics and show the real human impact of blood donation. The goal was to create an emotional, donor-focused piece that honored mothers while helping raise funds and awareness for the Vitalant Foundation’s work.
PROCESS
Strategy & Approach
We developed a cinematic story arc that begins quietly, following a day in Stacy’s life in black and white. For the first part of the film, the viewer does not fully understand what is missing. Then, as Stacy’s twins are revealed alive and well, the film transitions into color, creating a powerful emotional shift.
Giddy Up handled the creative direction, film production, photography, and supporting campaign assets, capturing both the intimate details of Stacy’s story and the broader meaning behind blood donation.
RESULTS
Final Experience
The final campaign gave Vitalant Foundation a deeply personal story to support its national Mother’s Day fundraising effort. The film and photography assets were designed for use across the campaign landing page, donor communications, social media, and brand awareness efforts, helping connect donors to the real families impacted by their generosity.
The live campaign page frames Mother’s Day giving around the “gift of life,” noting that donated blood can be the difference between life and death for mothers facing childbirth complications, with donations matched up to $10,000.
