The Challenge
Hoowee™ began with an ambitious idea from Hands Down, Inc.: create an easy, entertaining way for anyone to tell a personal story and see it transformed into an animated video.
Giddy Up helped bring that idea to life from the ground up. We developed the full business strategy and financial model, name, created the brand identity and designed and built the complete interactive web application. We also developed the production pipeline that turns each user’s recording into a personalized piece of animated content.
PROCESS
Strategy & Approach
We worked closely with Hands Down, Inc. to define the concept, shape the user experience and establish a distinct personality for the platform. The name Hoowee™ captures the expressive, surprising and often hilarious nature of the stories people tell.
From there, we created a playful visual identity and designed the experience to feel simple and approachable from the first interaction. Users can record a story directly within the web application or upload an existing recording, then submit it for transformation into an animated video they can watch, download and share.
To make personalized animation possible at scale, Giddy Up developed a production pipeline combining human creativity with AI-assisted tools.
Open-source technologies such as Whisper help convert recorded stories into accurate transcripts. From there, intelligent prompting helps analyze each story, identify key characters, settings, actions and visual moments, and translate them into structured creative direction for animation.
The process gives our creative team a strong starting point while keeping people involved in the decisions that define the final piece. AI helps organize and accelerate production. Human direction keeps each video funny, expressive and true to the person who told the story.

Hoowee™ is more than a website or an animation service. It is a connected storytelling platform built from scratch. Strategy, naming, branding, product design, development, artificial intelligence, animation and video production all work together as one experience.
What began as an idea is now a fully interactive web application that allows people to tell their stories in their own words and receive something completely original in return: their story, brought to life.
